Challenge
Evolving a national broadcaster into a contemporary media powerhouse required a design that commands respect without competing with the content. The objective was to build a system that feels at home on any screen, from traditional broadcast to high-speed digital feeds. A delicate balance had to be struck between a heritage-rich past and a high-tech future. The mission was to deliver a visual anchor that is both invisible in its utility and iconic in its presence.
Strategy
The strategic core relied on treating the main trio of TVP channels as a unified family. Instead of isolated sub-brands, the logic focuses on a shared visual rhythm that connects the channels while allowing each to maintain its specific programming flavor. By minimizing visual noise and utilizing a "less, but better" approach, the brand provides a consistent framework that supports the entire network architecture rather than distracting from it.
Identity
The identity is anchored by a custom typographic system designed for absolute universality and effortless readability across all formats, featuring a new font designed by Marian Misiak. Alongside this foundational typeface, we delivered a comprehensive on-air system, including dynamic motion design assets for the logotypes and bumper animations for upcoming programming blocks. The geometry and motion paths were engineered specifically for broadcast fluidness, ensuring clean transitions and visual continuity across the entire channel family.
Outcome
The complete on-air packaging, custom typography, and motion framework were fully adopted and remain active across the network's daily broadcasts. While internal, formal shifts within the broadcaster's management ultimately paused the deployment of the newly proposed logo, the core architectural system was successfully implemented. The final delivery provides TVP with a highly operational, unified broadcast ecosystem that honors its legacy while streamlining its modern on-air presence.
