Pokahontaz. Renesans

Classical Vandalism

Packaging, Illustration

Challenge

Designing the cover art for Renesans, the fifth studio album by Polish hip-hop duo Pokahontaz. The goal was to bridge the band's legacy with modern digital art, creating a cover that references classical art history while maintaining a raw, street-level identity.

Strategy

A calculated clash of cultures. By colliding high-art classical architecture with underground street art, the visual directly communicates the album's theme of rebirth.

Identity

The design centers on an intricate, multi-layered digital sculpture of a classical stone facade. Built using 3D face scanning, graffiti sketching, and 3D modeling, the dark, textured monument is violently slashed by a massive, dripping red graffiti tag. The raw chaos is balanced by clean, elegant typography displaying the album name and the Roman numerals "MMXIX".

Outcome

A high-impact, production-ready cover optimized for physical vinyl/CD print and digital streaming. The high-contrast imagery served as the visual anchor for the entire promotional campaign, cutting through digital noise and driving physical collector appeal.
