Challenge
Designing a new logo for the Capitol Musical Theatre in Wrocław. The objective was to create a distinctive mark that honors the location’s history—dating back to 1929 when it opened as one of Europe’s most modern cinemas—while ensuring the aesthetic feels contemporary rather than outdated.
Strategy
The design strategy extracts visual data from the theater's physical archive. By bypassing generic musical or theatrical motifs, the focus shifts to the building's iconic architectural legacy.
Identity
The logo is a direct typographic translation of the theater's 1929 facade. It locks the letters into a rhythmic grid that replicates the original spacing and structural integration of the historic signage.
Outcome
The theater received a minimalist logo deeply rooted in its own spatial history. The clean line work allows the mark to scale effortlessly across all touchpoints—from large-scale building signage and printed performance programs to digital ticket interfaces and mobile avatars—without losing its cultural weight.
